Schiaparelli Spring/Summer 2025: A Surrealistic Ode to Timelessness
Daniel Roseberry’s latest collection for Schiaparelli, showcased at Place Vendôme during Paris Fashion Week, marks a fascinating evolution in his creative journey. Known for his eccentric and avant-garde take on couture, Roseberry this season took a step toward more approachable fashion, yet retained his signature surrealist flair.
It wasn’t just a fashion show—it was a celebration of timelessness, eccentricity, and bold expression. Roseberry continues to push boundaries, offering a collection that is as wearable as it is artistic.
Here’s a rundown of the key highlights
1. Hourglass Silhouettes and Sculpted Forms
The show opened with Schiaparelli’s iconic hourglass shapes. Models appeared as modern-day Greek statues, with their figures accentuated by corseted bodysuits and tailored dresses. Kendall Jenner’s fitted denim corset, which melded into her jeans, redefined casual wear with a femme fatale twist.
2. Minimal Embroidery, Maximum Texture
Unlike previous seasons where embroidery took center stage, Roseberry dialed it back, focusing instead on the rich textures of the fabrics. Denim, suede, and jersey were transformed into something extraordinary—denim dresses molded to the body and suede strips were lacquered to catch the light. A blue mesh dress, its long braid coiled in the model’s hand, became a whip-like accessory.
3. Modern Nostalgia with Vintage Touches
Roseberry called his collection “Future Vintage” and succeeded in blending modernity with nostalgia. Pieces like the oversized white shirt dress worn by Adriana Lima harkened back to the past, while the exaggerated proportions and playful asymmetry brought a fresh, modern touch. The collection spanned across decades, evoking the spirit of ’80s power dressing in zebra prints and bold gold jewelry.
4. Accessories that Demand Attention
Accessories stole the show, with long gloves, oversized sculpted earrings, and Schiaparelli’s signature locks and golden details adorning the models. A standout was the trompe l’oeil toe shoes, tweaked with golden toe rings, adding an unconventional, playful vibe to an otherwise elegant look.
5. A Fusion of Casual and Couture
While the collection embraced casual elements like jeans and tennis polos, Roseberry gave them the haute couture treatment. The juxtaposition of relaxed tailoring with extravagant details—like shoulder pads paired with flowing Grecian skirts—created an idiosyncratic closet for those who love fashion that speaks volumes.
